HOW IT ALL STARTED

Pip and MintyFootsteps was set up four years ago by Pip Hoyer Millar. Her daughter, Minty has cerebral palsy and she was told not to expect Minty ever to walk, that she would have limited speech and would not develop cognitively beyond the level of a four year old. Like many Footsteps parents, Pip refused to accept this limiting prophecy and continued to research and try many therapies throughout the UK and around the world until she finally discovered a new treatment in Poland.

Pip and Minty spent two years travelling between Poland and the UK for the treatment and Minty’s condition improved dramatically. Two highly skilled therapists from Poland joined Pip to set up Footsteps in the UK. Today, Minty walks, talks non-stop and has enjoyed progress in every area.

Now four years on, Footsteps has helped many children with varying conditions and needs, and has a team of dedicated and experienced therapists.

Pip, with a team of advisors who have seen Minty’s dramatic improvement over the years, has now set up Footsteps Foundation to help families whose children would otherwise be unable to afford to benefit from the private therapy at The Footsteps Centre.

Every hour of specialist treatment will make a difference
