The young people who come to Footsteps range from three to 25 years old and travel from all over the country. They all have neuro-motor disorders and they all benefit from the treatment.
THE FOOTSTEPS PROGRAMME:
Is a three week long course of therapy which usually comprises three hours daily therapy, five days a week. A programme of this length has proved to be the optimum time for children to gain maximum benefit.
- Aims to enhance and improve physical development as well as build confidence; both of which often positively affect speech and cognitive capabilities.
- Is completely individual and child orientated.
- Offers a child-friendly environment with specialist therapists who combine intensive exercise with fun and games.
- Offers individual kinetic therapy based on neuro-improving techniques, using NDT Bobath (Neurodevelopmental Treatment), PNF (Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation) and conventional rehabilitation.
